**This resource relates to repeated addition and arrays to visualize multiplication. ** Aimed at: Year 1/2 and Lower Keystage 2, and SEND. PowerPoint Presentation (24 Slides) contains: Illustration and explanation of arrays (rows and columns) How we read the arrays What is repeated addition and how it is written (2 + 2 + 2 = 3 lots of 2 = 2 x 3), i.e 2 repeated 3 times. Whole class activity on describing an array on their whiteboards There are 3 worksheets:- Activity 1 (2 pages) - Children write repeated additions for the arrays shown. Children that require support with the activities can write one repeated addition e.g. 2 + 2 + 2 whereas a more able child will be able to write two addition models: 2 + 2 + 2 and 3 + 3. Activity 2 (2 pages) - (Extension) Same as above but the arrays are larger. There is a small section on the worksheets where it asks children to show 3 lots of 4 and then circle the groups. Activity 3 (8 pages)- Cut and Paste activity - The activity involves children cutting out buttons and arranging them in an array according to what is asked in the boxes: e.g. 5 x 2, so the student cuts out 2 lots of 5 buttons (10) and form them in an array, e.g. 5 buttons in a row and 2 columns. Extension for more able: On Activity Sheets 1 and 2 - The children can write the multiplication number sentence inside the box below their repeated additions- 2 + 2 + 2 2 X 3 = 6 3 + 3 3 X 2 = 6 Learning Objectives: To know that multiplication is related to repeated addition To learn that arrays arranged in rows and columns helps us to work out a multiplication sums. It is part of a large resource pack - see below. You may only require the worksheets which can be used in the classroom, as homework or as revision. See the first example on the worksheet. • Making Words with Ending Blends (3 worksheets) Students can choose any of the final consonant blends to complete the words below the boxes. Once they have made word, the students draw a picture to go with the word because two words can be made with be__ , i.e. best or bend. Both are correct as they are real words. • Colouring activity – Which Word? (3 worksheets) Students sound out the word that goes with the picture in the centre and then colour the correct word that goes with the picture. As an extension activity, on a separate sheet, students can write a sentence with the words that are not coloured in. • Differentiated Cut and paste activities (4 worksheets) The first set of worksheets do not contain pictures. Students cut out the ending blends and match it to the correct starting letters to make a word. When they have made a word, they write out the word neatly on the handwriting lines. This product relates to alphabet activities for Reception/Year 1, SEN and ESL/EFL/ESOL. Learning Objectives: To begin to learn about alphabetic order and matching upper to lower case letters. To identify initial sounds. Content: • Teacher’s notes • 2 Sets of Aa-Zz puzzle pieces – Cut/paste • Aa-Zz -Matching letters of the alphabet to pictures • Aa-Zz - Tracing over letters and matching to pictures Description Cut and Paste to match Puzzle pieces Place a selection of Aa – Zz puzzle sheets on tables for children to cut out and match upper and lower case letters and stick into workbook or on a separate sheet of paper. They can trace inside the letters with different colour pencils (rainbow tracing). For the capital letter part of the puzzle ask children to write words beginning with capital letters such as their name if it begins with that letter, a city, day or month, a place of interest etc and draw pictures. I have uploaded two sets of lower case letters a to z to be printed onto card paper and laminate. A lovely addition to your Alphabet/Phonic station. Aimed at EYFS/Year 1, EFL/ESL students Children practise moulding dough on top of the letters with dough/ plasticine. Children practise writing inside the letters with different colour drywipe pens. Print out as many times as you like - children can draw pictures beginning with the name of the letters. Opportunity to use as a teaching resource showing children how to form lower case letters. Ideal for early finishers and for those pupils who need more practice in adding up coins. This pack relates to euros and euro cents currency. Updated 17 May 2022 to include two versions of the original Presentation and worksheets showing the different ways euros/cents are written. Aimed at KS1/Kindergarten/Grade 1 and ESL/EFL students. The presentation can be used as follow-up to the first pack and builds upon the skills students have learnt previously. It still uses a step-by-step approach to teaching money but using higher value coins. This pack contains: <strong>A comprehensive PowerPoint Presentation (53 Slides) - divided into convenient sections. </strong> 1.Reviewing coins and their values, money exchange and using the 50c, €1 and €2 coins. 2. Using €1 and €2 euro coins. Using combination of coins to equal the value of the one euro and two euro coins. 3. Using euros and cents together - this is explained in the presentation with various whole class activities 4. Giving change from €1 and € 2 euro coins. The Presentation also includes whole class activities and different strategies students can use to work out money problems. This product relates to adverbs of degree. I have included a common list of words but there are so many. Use this resource to supplement your teaching of adverbs of degree. You may like to display some of the posters around your classroom. Laminating the posters and flashcards gives them that professional look. Content: Teacher’s Notes Adverbs of degree title card 15 whole page display cards or anchor cards (you can enlarge) 52 Adverbs of degree flashcards - you can photocopy onto colour card paper Differentiated Worksheets 1x Word Search with Solution The 52 adverbs of degree are 4 words to a page - just laminate and cut out. Extras: 6 sets of Worksheets to practise using adverbs of degree: Worksheet 1: Adverbs of Degree Cloze Activity. Students choose an adverb to complete the six sentences. For the second part of the worksheet, students make up a sentence of their own using one of the adverbs that was not used in the cloze activity. Worksheet 2: Adverbs of Degree Modifying Adjectives Worksheet. Students write 9 sentences using the numbered adverb/adjective words in the table. The students can work in pairs if they feel they need help in making up sentences. Worksheet 3 – Adverbs of Degree Modifying Action Worksheet. An explanation is given in the box. Students write 9 sentences using the numbered adverb/action verb in the table. An example is given. Students can draft some sentences on their whiteboard before completing the worksheet. Worksheet 4 – Adverbs of Degree Modifying Other Adverbs Worksheet. Similar to the above task, - A brief explanation is given in the box. Students then write 9 sentences using the numbered degree adverb/other adverbs in the table. Students can draft some sentences on their whiteboards before completing the worksheet. Worksheet 5: Adverbs Focus: Enough, Too and Very Worksheet (with Answer Sheet) In completing this worksheet, students must think about the word order of ‘enough’. The rest of the worksheet is straightforward when the students come to use ‘too’ and ‘very’. The second part of the worksheet requires students to write their own sentences using each of the degree adverbs. Adverbs of Degree Word Search (with Solution) – Students find 14 words listed that go across and down. Worksheet 6: Extension: Rewrite the list in alphabetical order on a separate sheet of paper. Listening and Speaking: As a whole class or small group activity, shuffle a few flashcards and ask a student to select a card. You can use this resource to present in an assembly (10-15 mins) or as a standalone lesson as I have included worksheets. It is editable to suit learning abilities of your pupils. Remember to ‘Save As’, give a new name to the Presentation before editing. You can change the date of Mother’s Day as it changes each year. Content: • Assembly/Lesson Notes • 19 Slides – PowerPoint Presentation • Mother’s Day card to colour in and add additional designs • Worksheet 1 – Pupils draw four things and write simple sentences of what their mums do for them. • Worksheet 2 – Pupils draw four things and write simple sentences of what they will do on Mother’s Day to make it special • Worksheet 3 – Pupils complete a cloze activity. Pupils can decorate and colour in and add their name at the bottom. Then fold along the line to look like a card. Second sheet with the heart should be printed on normal paper. Tell pupils to decorate the sheet with the large heart on and then cut out to stick onto the front of the card. 3 Optional Worksheets to use after assembly or lesson. Worksheet 1 – Pupils draw four things and write simple sentences of what their mums or foster mum or gran do for them. Dictation sentences and longer passages. This resource is in line with the National Curriculum objectives on the value of dictation to children. UPDATED TO INCLUDE PDF DOCS Aimed at: Foundation/Keystage 1/2 and suitable for ESL/EFL students. The resource comprises:- PowerPoint Presentation (1) - contains 10 sentences for dictation. PowerPoint Presentation (2) - contains 20 texts for dictation - passages are longer. Ready-made worksheets (x3) Handwriting sheets Audio recording of all the dictation - on the last slide of each Presentation. Clear and comprehensive Teacher’s Notes on suggested use of this resource. The learning objectives are outlined - in short the children to write from memory simple sentences dictated by the teacher that include GPCs and common exception words. This activity gives the student the opportunity to practise their spelling. You can use this resource in focus groups or whole class teaching. The texts are numbered but you do not have to follow the number order. You can pick and choose any text to suit the level of your class or group. As suggested in the teacher’s notes, you print of the text to read aloud or play the audio. After the dictation, the children can correct each other’s work by referring to the text on the PowerPoint Slide, and then copy the corrected piece of writing into their literacy books in their best handwriting. Punctuations dictated are: full stops, commas in a list, question marks and exclamation marks. Speech marks/inverted commas are also used in two of the texts for the higher Keystage students. I have uploaded a set of time-saving worksheets relating to upper and lower case letters of the alphabet. Aimed at: Reception/KS1 Total worksheets: 40 Description of resources: • Set 1 Worksheets – Select the correct initial letters for pictures; • Set 2 Worksheets – Select 6 correct initial letters out of the 8 from the rectangle to write below the pictures ; • Set 3 Worksheets – Select correct initial capital letter from circle to complete each word; • Set 4 Worksheets – Each box contains two pictures beginning with the same initial letters. Students write the initial alphabet letter for the pictures. • Set 5 Worksheets – Fill in the missing letter to complete the word then rewrite the whole word in capital letters. • Set 6 Worksheets – The pictures in each box start with different initial alphabet letters. Students write the initial letters below each picture in their best handwriting to practise mid-zone letters, ascender and descender letters. E.g. if the two pictures are a jug and a table, the student writes the ‘j’ (descender) and ‘t’ (ascender) on the handwriting lines. I have included some completed examples of worksheets. This maths pack relates to weight/mass lessons aimed at: EYFS/Year 1/2 A practical-based topic - to get children involved in comparing and weighing different objects and using vocabulary related to mass. Three clear lesson plans: Lesson 1 - Main Lesson - Comparing two objects (Starter Lesson: Reviewing days of the week) Lesson 2 - Main Lesson - Comparing two objects and then introducing a third object to find the heaviest and lightest. All About Me booklet. Ideal for Year 1/2, ESL, EFL and EAL students. Teacher’s Notes included. Use it during the first week back at school and find out about the children you’ll be teaching and children can find out about each other’s family and interests. The front page of the booklet, which is editable, comes in 7 border colours: plain white, blue, red, yellow, purple, green and grey. On the front page is a doodle box for children to doodle away and make their cover unique. The rest of the pages are for children to: do a self portrait write their age write who they live with draw the people they live with write three favourite things they like to do write and draw their favourite animal, TV show, colour and food A page about ‘More about me’ - children write a special day they like to celebrate, a place to visit, favourite subjects and what they want to be when they grow up.
